Meet "Phoenix"


A young Mastiff whose body tells a horrific story no dog should ever have to live through. Clearly used for breeding before she was barely out of puppyhood, she arrived as little more than skin stretched over bones weighting a shocking 38lbs when she should be approx 80lbs. Her body is covered in an untreated skin infection for so long her fur and skin is peeling away in painful crusts, with apparent old scars healed over and fresh bite wounds covering her legs and body. She simply is, a walking miracle she is still alive.

And yet... she still saves enough energy to wag her tail.

She still leans in for gentle kisses.

She still chooses to trust the very species that failed her, and we cannot fail her now.

Her resilience is nothing short of remarkable. Phoenix has already fought harder than most ever should in a lifetime to simply - live. Now it's our turn to fight for her.

We must help Phoenix truly rise from the ashes of her past and become the healthy, happy, cherished girl she should have always been. She can't do it alone, we can't do it alone. We need all your help. Her road to recovery will require extensive veterinary care, medications, around the clock nutrition monitoring, muscle and physical therapy to rebuild her broken down body and she has fought so damn hard to get here. To find help, and all be damned if we will not fight for her just as hard - but we need help.
